Pontech CZ and Eximprod Romania have joined forces to launch EP Grid Solutions, a new Czech-based venture combining utility IT, GIS and ADMS expertise to support grid digitalization projects across Central Europe.
At first glance, one might ask what brings these two companies together and what justifies such an investment. The answer is simple: quite a lot.
Pontech is an international company that has been active in the Czech Republic, Romania and Bulgaria since 2007, focusing exclusively on the utilities sector. The company implements industry-standard technologies and provides system integration across different technology platforms. Among its key partnerships, Pontech is an Esri GIS partner and a Schneider Electric EcoXpert partner for ArcFM, the utility-specific enterprise GIS solution.
Eximprod is a Romanian engineering and technology company with strong expertise in power transmission and distribution. Its capabilities combine electrical engineering, grid automation, protection and control, and digital solutions for utilities.
In the ADMS field, Eximprod has developed extensive capabilities in the implementation and integration of advanced distribution management solutions, including SCADA/DMS, network monitoring and control, outage management, grid optimization, and integration with GIS and other utility systems. This expertise has resulted in Eximprod becoming a Schneider Electric ADMS EcoXpert partner.
The portfolios and capabilities of Pontech and Eximprod are distinctive yet highly complementary. Pontech brings deep expertise in utility IT, enterprise GIS and system integration, while Eximprod contributes extensive electrical engineering, grid automation and ADMS expertise.
Building on this complementarity, the two companies decided to establish EP Grid Solutions to strengthen their presence in Central Europe, with a particular focus on the Czech Republic.
The combined experience and know-how of the two shareholders provide a strong foundation for supporting utilities in the implementation and integration of ADMS, GIS and related grid digitalization technologies, particularly solutions from Schneider Electric.
Through EP Grid Solutions, this expertise is now combined with a strong local presence and local support, enabling the company to address projects that increasingly require close integration between the physical electrical grid, operational technologies and enterprise IT systems.
EP Grid Solutions brings together utility IT, GIS, electrical engineering and ADMS advanced grid-management expertise to provide locally supported, end-to-end solutions for distribution utilities in Central Europe.
